Earlier this year, the top honchos at Twitter HQ announced that their Analytics product would be launched by the end of 2010.
Now it seems that we’re closer than ever to seeing how popular our individual tweets really are. Twitter has always been dogged with a measurement problem that led many to intitally dismiss the platform outright, but the company is finally make account data available to individual users to help track their social media activity online.
Social media news website Mashable recently revealed that a minority of users are already testing the product. From the first screenshots that you see below the basic stats that uers will be able to track include;
- Number of people who have Followed
- Number of people Unfollowed
- Number of Retweets
- Number of Impressions your tweets have received
- Number of Clicks from the links you have shared

The unveiling of Twitter Analytics is obviously a very exciting development for marketeers and social media experts, but will be unwelcome news for third party developers and companies that already offer a similar service.
