The Life of Riley

So to keep you all up dated with what I am doing with my life.

As most of you know I have been working for an events company called Bullseyehub and it has been good, sometimes stressful but all in all I have enjoyed working here but as with all things everything must come to an end and my time is done for the time being. The reason I am leaving is for personal reasons, I have decided to take a break from sales and get away from monthly targets which over time can take it out of you. 

I have decided to get completely away from sale and I will be working with Jan at All Thingz Green. I will be working with him for the summer. Hopefully the weather stays like it is now as it is awesome. It will be good for me, no targets that you have to hit everyday and month and I know that it will be hard work but the benefits are that I will get fit, hopefully catch a tan (with all the sun we are going to have) and regain my drive for sales and when I get back into the game, I will be hungrier than ever and destroy all targets in front of me.

So this is where I am at the moment with work and hopefully it will transpire to personal life as well.

Our time is coming to an end.....

As time draws closer, you come to realise what you have,had and what you are loosing. This is what most people would think is this situation BUT this is not what I am thinking in this situation. I am looking forward to the future, to the things that are coming to me. 

As I look to the future I am seeing the light, no I am not dying but I am seeing good times ahead. It is a change and I think it will do me good. Change is good and it always looks daunting but when change is at the door it is easier that you initially thought it would be. 

I can not divulge what it is that is changing, I will do soon as to keep you all up to speed with the goings on...

Smashing Targets Scabenga Style

So the month is drawing to an end and as in all sales jobs you are targeted. No it is down to each sales rep to find and close their own leads.

For me this month I am on track to smash target for the first time in a long time. The last time I really and truly smashed target was at Qype and I must say it feels good to do it again.

I will keep you posted as too how the end of the month actually finished.

Work is going all healthy..... What is the world coming to?

So as some of you might of known, my company has been rewarding us with beer and junk food for sales and hitting targets set. Now after 2 months of coke, chocolate, tubs of sweets we have one salesman who is diabetic and has to take shots of insulin on a daily basis to stay alive.

So in protest of this, the powers at be have decided that they want to get us health. So instead of getting beer as a prize you get a bottle of healthy pills, peppermint tea, yogurt coated raisins.

No as some of you might know I am not a big fan of swallowing pills, they make me gag. But the healthy option is proving to be better for the mood of the office and it is bringing the dead back to life.

Today I am the road.

Today I am working out of the office. This is new for me as I am normally office based. So laptop in hand and all the information I need to take on the world.

What am I doing I hear you ask. Well I am visiting clients and going through Bullseyehub. Some clients prefer top see you rather than discuss over the phone and to be honest it is a high closing rate to see them face to face.

Today I have arranged 3 visits and 3 completely different venues. The first is Yates in Leicester Square. The second is known for being a rock venue with a very strong comedy vibe as well, so that could be a good account. The third is a venue with something on every night, and the events range from 2-4-1 specials to live music.

I will come back and let you know what the feedback is.

Week 3 in the Bullseyehub House

Week 3 of January 2011 and the pressure is on now....Targets to hit.

As everyone knows January is a tough month in sales in any sector but the company always sets targets and where I stand today, I am slightly behind. I need to pick my feet up for the next two weeks. I need to reach a total of £459 of new business by the end of the week. Can it be done. I think that there is a strong chance that i can hot it.

I did get a small account this morning that chips away at my target. Good start to the week.

Back at Work

So most of us are back to work and I hope all are enjoying it as much as me. The idea of a new year which will bring you great fortune, possible new work position with in the company, maybe even a salary increase, this is what should be spurring you on to be bigger and better things. Now I know it has only been 3 days of the working year. So what I have done is listed something that are springing to mind so far....

Lets look at the positive that I have in my day....

• The tubes are more expensive and the service is the same....SHIT
• My email inbox is overflowing with Stupid requests from people
• The weather is overcast, wet and dull
• When my eyes open for the first time at 7.30am it is still dark

Now the negatives so far...

• The kettle is not boiling water as fast as it was in 2010. (I think it is old)

I am only playing with the positives and negatives. I am actually having a good time at work. I have secured my first account of 2011 and I am liking the fact that I am getting into a routine again except for the waking up early, I never get used to that.

First Day back at work...

What a way to start the year of 2011.

I get to work and my i mac computer is missing but my keyboard and mouse and power cable were still here. So my and colleagues initial thoughts were that the boss has borrowed over xmas to do work. NO, that is not what happened. Also another staff members laptop was missing as well. What a liberty. 

So the boss has been going through the alarm systems check-ins (we have those fobs for the front door and it looks like the cleaners made an extra stop one early morning, Sat 18th December, for a quick pick up. So the evidence is there is call the po po and do some arresting. What idiots (the cleaners). Do they not think that a company that has over 50 computers will have some sort of security with the building. 

I hope they are caught and whipped and put in jail with Bubba (the big, gay cell mate who needs some extra loving) and from that you will hope that they learn that crime does not pay. Now they will be Bubba's bitches. hahaha

Other than that the day has been quiet, getting back into the swing of things. Remembering what goes where and how to do things again.
