Matter to Reopen in 2011

Greenwich super club Matter looks set to reopen after a Summer of inactivity. An advert purportedly from the club looking for “managers at all levels” was posted on gumtree yesterday. Resident Advisor confirmed the rumour with a post last night revealing that the club would be run by behemoths AEG and would no longer have anything to do with its previous owners and creators,Fabric.

The club closed earlier this year after haemorrhaging cash throughout its two year life due to its out of the way position and the frequent jubilee line weekend closures. As its sister club, Fabric was taken into administration with it but to the relief of the London clubbing community was saved in its final hour with a refinancing deal.
The club was purpose built by the owners of Fabric and was hailed as visionary and highly ambitious, sadly a vision that was not successfully realised while in the hands of its creators. Perhaps now the mighty custom body sonic sound system can reawaken from its slumber, blow the dust of its colossal subs and blast out some decent music once more.
